| President of Puntland His Excellency Laid down of the foundation stone of the airport runway which is also funded by the Government of Puntland. Wednesday, 22-Nov 2006 |
 H.E Mohamud Muse Hersi, President of Puntland State of Somalia, accompanied by The Minster of Public works and Aviation Mr. Abdullahi Ali Hersi, have officially laid the foundation of the runway for the new Bosaso international Airport. |
The core of engineers from the contracting company (Cormio Engineering) was also present along with local government officials. The construction of the new runway will take up to 12 Month to complete, with the estimated cost of $9,000,000 USD, funded by the Government of Puntland. This is the final stage following the completion of the main terminal of the Airport and other supporting facilities. The new Airport will accommodate international flights and the heavy cargo planes, which will improve the air travel and international trade of the state. Speech by the Presedent H.E.
